When arranging for home care services, the more notice we have, the better. That way we can do an in-home assessment and create a customized plan of care that will meet the person’s full range of needs. However, for those in need of urgent care, we can arrange services as soon as the next day, depending on necessity and availability.
Because home care services are personalized to fit each person’s unique needs, we prefer to discuss pricing after we have a full understanding of how much and what type of care you or your loved one will need. Please feel free to call us any time to discuss your needs and we will be happy to provide pricing then.
We do not require a minimum of hours, but our pricing will vary based on length and frequency of services.
We accept private pay via cash, check, or credit card. Additionally, many of our clients are eligible for assistance through the MA Home Care Program. Contact your local ASAP for more information.
Some long-term care insurance or Medicare Advantage plans may pay for home care services. Contact your insurance company to find out if your plan offers home care coverage.
While home care agency licensing is not required at this time by Massachusetts, legislation on the issue is pending, and Abernathy Home Care is supportive of the legislation and prepared for compliance. Our agency’s contracts are overseen by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs, which requires a stringent contracting process that is regularly reviewed and audited.
We are serious about the safety and security of everyone we serve. All our caregivers must pass a thorough criminal background check, nurse aide registry check, Office of Inspector General (OIG) Medicare fraud check, driving record checks, and reference checks. We also check each applicant against the Massachusetts State Aid exclusion list to ensure that we only hire safe, experienced, and reliable care providers.
Abernathy Home Care is family-founded and owned, and we treat each client we serve just as we would a member of our own family. Our focus is on high quality care and meaningful employment opportunities rather than just corporate profits. We have pride in our profession, and we believe home care is an essential service and that aging in place is an option everyone should have.
