Who is Eligible for VA In-Home Care?

If you are looking for veteran home care services in Middlesex County or the surrounding areas, you may be eligible for VA health care if you meet the requirements below.

Military Service Requirements:

  • Military Service: You served in the active-duty military, naval, or air service.
  • Discharge Status: You were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable.

Automatic Eligibility:

  • You may automatically qualify if you have a service-connected disability, or if you are a former POW, a Medal of Honor recipient, or a Purple Heart recipient.

Income-Based Eligibility (For Non-Service Connected Veterans):

If your care is not connected to a service disability, eligibility is based on your enlistment date and income:

  • Enlisted before September 7, 1980: There is no minimum length of service required. Your income must fall below $56,700 (this varies slightly by region).
  • Enlisted after September 7, 1980: You must have served 24 continuous months, and your income must fall below $56,700.
